  • Children's Ministry

    Children’s Creative Arts/Theatre Class

    • Begins January 10 | 5:45 – 7:30 pm weekly through May
    • Pre-K drop-off is in the Nursery. Elementary drop-off in the FunZone
    • Facilitators: Felicia Coleman & Gabrielle Toledo

    Throughout the year, children will have the opportunity to learn about yoga, various fine arts, and theatre skills. If your child is involved with choir they will have the opportunity to rotate in and out of class.

    • Rehearsal begins January 10 | Pre-K-1st grade: 6:10 pm | 2nd-5th grade: 6:45 pm, weekly through May

    Please join us for an exciting year in Children’s Choir! Choirs rehearse weekly and sing approximately once a month in worship services. They also participate in larger musical productions and choir festivals. As the children develop their voices and musical skills, they learn to express their faith and lead others in worship.   • Youth Ministry

    The Core

    The Core is a group for youth to discuss upcoming worship topics and make decisions for the Youth Ministry. Each week an in-depth look at the worship topic, scripture, and other devotional material will help bring new understanding of the subject. The Core is open to youth interested in exploring Biblical themes in a new and deep way.

    Pastor’s Bible Study

    • Begins January 10 | 6:00 – 7:00 pm weekly through May 2018

    Interested in learning more about the Bible? Want to dive deeper into the weekly sermon scripture? Join us for the Pastor’s Bible Study, led by the preaching pastor for the upcoming sermon. We will explore the historical, linguistic, and theological features of the scripture text and how the text can shape our faith and practice as followers of Christ.

    Social Principles Class

    • Begins January 10 | 6:15 – 7:30 pm through February 7

    Food Justice? Organ Donation? Abortion? Civil Disobedience? Have you ever struggled with these issues? In our complex world, social issues are not easy to navigate, yet our faith has traditions on how to address these issues. Join us for a dialogue to explore the difficult issues of society through the lens of the United Methodist Social Principles.

    Saving Jesus

    • Begins January 10 | 6:00 – 7:30 pm weekly through November 29

    Ever feel like Jesus has been kidnapped by the Christian Right and discarded by the Secular Left? Saving Jesus is a 12-session DVD-based small group exploration of the message and mission of Jesus for the third millennium.

    Learning to Walk in the Dark (Book Study)

    • Begins January 10 | 6:15 – 7:15 pm through February 7
    • Facilitators: Marty Murray, Shelly Denmark

    In our Christian tradition, light is usually associated with good, and darkness is often associated with evil. But is that how we should continue to associate those images? Join us for a book study of Barbara Brown Taylor’s Learning to Walk in the Dark, where we will challenge this often-used dichotomy and learn how to appreciate all that we learn about ourselves and our faith in times of uncertainty and difficulty.

    Living the Questions

    • Begins January 10 | 6:00 – 7:30 pm weekly through April 2018
    • Facilitator: Deborah Hill

    Study of the hard questions and issues that confront Christians. Participants will view and discuss a 30-minute video, supplemented by brief material to read and questions to answer at home in preparation for each week. This study is designed for individuals who have some background and experience with Christian thought and teachings.

    The Other Sheep (LGBTQ)

    The Other Sheep is a welcoming and inclusive group for Bible study and discussion

    Community Yoga

    • Year-round | 6:30 pm

    Join us Wednesdays on the third floor for Community Yoga! We begin with meditation, transition into a devotion, and end with yoga flow during this hour-long session. This activity is open to all levels of experience, including new yogis. Please dress in yoga or exercise attire and bring your mat, water, and a friend. Extra mats will be available.

  • Music Ministry

    Chancel Choir

    • 7:30 pm | Choir room
    • Facilitator: Dr. Redding, Chancel Choir Director

    The Chancel Choir sings weekly during the 11:00 am worship hour. This Choir sings challenging compositions that represent music of all historical periods, but especially music from the serious contemporary genre.

    Brass Ensemble

    • 6:30 pm | Contemporary Worship Center (2nd floor)

    The Brass Ensemble plays standard brass ensemble compositions ranging from Gabrielli to today’s contemporary composers and provides colorful accompaniment to anthems sung by the Chancel Choir.
