Flower Ministry

We use the flowers that decorate the pulpit and narthex during the Sunday Services. Along with great fellowship, this team is in ministry to shut-ins and persons in hospitals and care facilities. The arrangers send 15 – 20 arrangements per week. In more than 10 years of ministry, they have distributed 7,000+ arrangements. If you’d like to make a donation of mugs or other small containers that flowers can be arranged in, please bring them to the church office. Deliverers bring the arrangements to individuals who have been sick, lost a loved one or might enjoy an unexpected message of love from their church family. Regular Monday deliverers are needed, as well as alternates and seasonal deliverers. Contact Judy Berry at 407.423.2739 if you would like to help prepare and/or deliver these cheerful arrangements or if you know of a someone who could use some cheer!

Shut-In Singing Ministry

The Ministry involves visiting shut-in church members and worshiping God through singing of hymns. Volunteers spend one Sunday afternoon per month visiting and singing together using the United Methodist Hymnal. Anyone interested in joining this Ministry should contact Phyllis Edwards at 407.886.9434 for information.

Ushers

Usher duties include greeting visitors and welcoming members into worship services and receiving the church’s tithes and offerings. They also play a role on Communion Sunday by guiding the congregation to partake of the bread and cup for communion. If you feel your gift of hospitality can be shared in this way or if you would like more information about becoming an usher, please contact Britt Lovett at wblovett@cfl.rr.com.

Fellowship Friends

This ministry is for those who enjoy befriending prospective members. A Fellowship Friend is there, not only to welcome each new individual at Visitor Open House, but to help introduce them to our church. They shepherd new members through the process by being with them as they attend New Member Orientation and on the Sunday they take their membership vows. Contact Don Schyberg at dschyberg@earthlink.net to become a Fellowship Friend.

Refreshments

Taking a few minutes after worship on Sunday to mingle with each other is a great way to get to know others who attend our church and to welcome newcomers. Helping to provide refreshments or to serve provides an excellent opportunity to give a simple but effective show of God’s love. Goodies are served on various Sundays throughout the year.
