Need help getting started on greening your lifestyle? Here is a basic guide to helping you create habits.

Think Recycle

Electronic waste is becoming a growing problem worldwide. Over 4.6 million tons of electronic waste is dumped in our local and international landfills every year, contributing to environmental and health concerns. As technology has evolved, we have grown and expanded our programs to include cell phones, digital cameras, iPods and MP3 players. By doing our part to keep these electronics out of landfills, we are creating a healthier and cleaner environment for future generations.

Through our partnerships with numerous school boards, food banks and charities we promote environmental education, electronic waste awareness and a means for communities to safely and responsibly dispose of electronic waste.

Fundraising should be easy – which is why Think Recycle has made their program cost and hassle-free! As members, First Church is provided with a simple way to earn money for their organizations through recycling unwanted cell phones, inkjet cartridges, toner cartridges and digital cameras.

Bring your donations to the church administrative offices. All proceeds from our congregation’s effort benefit our Special Needs Ministry and Buddy Break program here at First Church, so please check your closets and drawers for qualifying items that may be collecting dust and bring them to church!

Paper Recycling

Join the First Church Green Team and office staff in recycling unneeded paper. In our Wesley Child Development Center (WCDC) parking lot, you will notice a large recycling bin. Any contributions you bring are weighed, and our Mothers of Prescholers (MOPS) ministry receives proceeds per pound of paper recycled.
