East Central District seeks an Outreach Director
The East Central District is seeking an Outreach Director to facilitate the response of local churches in meeting community needs, with special emphasis of childhood hunger, by developing partnerships with organizations, businesses, and government entities. Position will be under the direction of East Central District Church and Community Connection (CCC). Duties and responsibilities include:Aiding local churches in developing outreach ministries in surrounding communities and urban areas,Research and pursue connectional, church, private and public funds for local church outreach activities,Assist churches to recruit and train volunteers,Assist Chair of the CCC Board with the preparation of meetings and reports,Use community demographic information and technology to further improve items listed above. Qualifications and requirements include:A Clergy or lay member of a United Methodist Church with experience in community outreach,A self-starter with organizational skills; the ability to coordinate multiple, disparate tasks concurrently, Preference for individual with successful grant writing experience, Demonstrated skill in the computer based spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software,Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with Conference and District Staff, District Pastors and Church leaders, local municipality Officials and community leaders.
