Sitting in any of the meeting rooms on the first and second floors, you may have noticed some changes. Each room is equipped with a flat screen television capable of showing videos and images off of a computer. Given that many classes are taught with accompanying slide shows and video clips, this makes all of our classrooms functional for an array of speakers and teachers. Whiteboards, both permanent and portable, will soon enhance each room.
All of the flat screen monitors are networked to a central computer, too. Announcement slide shows can be played simultaneously from one source thereby highlighting all the events at First Church. In addition, a video camera can provide a live feed from the sanctuary or the worship center to any or all classrooms in the building. The nursery is currently seeing the 11 a.m. worship service on a live feed.
In addition, both the rooms 1/2 and 6/7 have audio systems that allow for presenters to be easily heard and the ability to amplify question and answer sessions. New, stylized podiums will be added to each of these rooms in the near future.
Chaz Waltrip installed all of the equipment. He plans to have a laminated card in each room to describe the basic functions of the equipment. If you would like further training, please contact him in the church office.
