Last night, Bill Shortal announced to the choir and musical ensembles of First Church that the time has arrived for him to retire.

First, Bill is an incredibly gifted and talented person and musician.

Second, I am completely committed to maintaining the quality, creativity and theology of First Church’s music and arts ministry.

Third, in this transition of leadership, you and I will need to pray for God’s guidance and direction.

Finally, I will claim for all of us, Jesus’ promise that he will not leave us alone.
