We are called to use our resources to care for each other and the environment. We visit the sick and imprisoned, we embrace the poor, we work for the oppressed and homeless, and we walk together through hard times. These are clear ways that we as Christians answer the call to care for the spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, and environmental well-being of creation.
“The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants too. Because God is the one who established it on the seas; God set it firmly on the waters.” Psalm 24:1-2 (CEB)

Congregational Care
Congregational Care Ministers
Congregational Care Ministers are lay volunteers specifically trained to work alongside pastors and staff to minister to and care for our congregation. Through this ministry, they offer support for all aspects of life from baptism to end-of-life care.
Stephen Ministry – “When Life Happens”
Stephen Ministers work alongside our pastors to care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people or loved ones who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, relationship issues, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, loneliness, or any stressful time.
Stephen Ministers are highly trained and commissioned by the church to provide one on one Christian care for hurting people. The relationship with a Stephen Minister and all conversations with a Stephen Minister are completely confidential. Stephen Ministers provide nonjudgmental, caring Christian support. They are supported by the Stephen Ministry team, the Director of Congregational Care Ministries, and our pastors.
Take Them A Meal
During hectic times in life, First Church volunteers prepare and deliver meals to those in need of comfort and celebration. Serve by preparing a meal for those families in need of care.
